#Self Care Tips
2021 is the year of #Self-care. Nurturing your body, mind and spirit is so important for the sustainment of your life. Read our top ten ideas for a year of health.
Set boundaries at home and with your work. It’s easier said than done, but don’t give up. Even small boundaries can lead to great victories.
Give yourself a lot of grace, every day. It’s ok if you accidentally put your keys in the refrigerator. It can happen to the best of us.
Block time on your calendar for yourself. Paint, exercise, read, or get a mani-pedi. Make this a regular habit and try not to look at the screen during “me-time”.
Get plenty of sleep. A lack of sleep has been medically linked to many types of illnesses. The Z’s are just good plain medicine.
Stay hydrated. Personal question - what color is your urine? It should be clear! Water is life. It improves cognitive functions, flushes out the toxins in our bodies, and has so many other benefits.
Call your besties. Sometimes we just need our BFF to ground us and remind us of connection.
Try to limit the alcohol and sugars. I know, taming my sweet tooth is hard for me, too. This is my least favorite idea, but one with great benefits.
Volunteer. Did you know that focusing your efforts on helping others has been shown to make us happier people? By giving back to your community, you not only do good for others, you do good for yourself. It’s the ultimate win-win.
SING! In South Korea, people often karaoke for fun and to relieve stress, even if it’s just for 10 minutes. If you have stage fright, try it in the shower or at the red light in your car. Turn up that bass and belt it out!
Prioritize your spiritual well-being. For me, it’s prayer and journaling. For others it’s meditation or reading. Whatever it is, bump this bullet point up to number one.
